Biography
Antigone Pagonas

Antigone Pagonas, whose real name is Antigoni Pagona (b. 1977), is a Greek visual artist living and working in Athens, Greece. Working across painting, digital art and fine art photography, she explores the relationship between landscape, memory, light and emotion, creating works that move between observation and imagination.
Antigone spent much of her formative years in Monaco, where she moved with her parents in 1978. She completed her schooling there, obtaining the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Visual Arts and Languages. In 1996, she continued her studies at Padworth College in Reading, United Kingdom, where she studied Art and English. She subsequently pursued Hotel Management studies at Les Roches and the Hotel Institute Montreux in Switzerland.
Returning to Athens in 2002, Antigone embarked on a twenty-year career in the shipping industry while continuing to develop her creative interests. Alongside her professional career, she studied Art and Design at AKTO College, affiliated with Middlesex University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree with Upper Second Class Honours in Interior Architecture and Design. She also attended street photography courses with the Luminus Photographers Team, further developing her interest in visual storytelling and the expressive potential of photography.
Her artistic practice brings together a sensitivity to composition, colour, texture, light and perspective. Inspired by the natural world and the atmosphere of places, her paintings encompass landscapes, seascapes, mountain scenery and abstract compositions, while her digital art explores dreamlike visual interpretations. Her fine art photography captures the character of landscapes, architectural forms, botanical details and urban environments. Across these mediums, she seeks to convey not merely the appearance of a subject, but also the emotions, memories and associations it evokes.
In October 2018, she founded AndieArt, a creative company offering painting and photography services. She is also the owner of Andie Art Gallery in Athens, reflecting her continued commitment to artistic expression and the presentation of visual art.
Antigone has presented three solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece and internationally. Her acrylic paintings and fine art photography are held in private collections in Athens, Dubai, Switzerland and Monaco.
Today, her artistic journey continues through an ongoing exploration of the connections between the external world and inner experience. Moving between the tangible and the imagined, her work invites viewers to pause, look more closely and discover their own personal interpretations within each image.
